Electrical Building Systems Ltd is a member of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC). This means that all electrical work undertaken by Electrical Building Systems Ltd is certified to an exact standard. Below is a brief desription of the standards and protection offered to you by the NICEIC. As Electrical Building Systems Ltd is a member of the NICEIC you are guarenteed of the standard of all work completed.

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting

The NICEIC is an accredited certification body set up to protect users of electricity against the hazards of unsafe and unsound electrical installations. It is the industry's independent electrical safety regulatory body.

Complaints Procedure and Guarantee of Standards Scheme

Through its Complaints Procedure, the NICEIC investigates all allegations that Approved Contractors have not complied with the Councils technical standard and, where substantiated, requires the contractor to correct any faults at no extra cost to the consumer. If the contractor is unwilling to do so then, under the Guarantee of Standards Scheme, the NICEIC will appoint another contractor to correct the deviations, again at no additional cost to the specifier or consumer.

Certificates and Reports

There are four main certificate and report forms associated with electrical installations conforming to BS 7671 - Requirements for Electrical Installations:

The Electrical Installation Certificate provides written confirmation that the electrical installation work to which it relates has been designed, constructed, and inspected and tested in accordance with BS 7671.

The Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate is intended only for a single dwelling (single phase installations up to 100 Amps, with 12 circuits or less). It includes all the items in the Electrical Installation Certificate that are relevant to a domestic installation.

The Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate is intended to be used only where a minor alteration or addition has been made to an existing installation which does not involve the provision of a new circuit.

The Periodic Inspection Report is used to report on the safety condition of an existing installation.
